iNARTE ESD Control Preparatory Workshop (ESD 301)
Objective:
This course will equip the learner with the fundamentals on Electrostatic & ESD sensitive (ESDS) devices. The learner will be introduced to ANSI/ESD S20.20-2014 standards, standard test methods & standard practices within an EPA to protect ESD Sensitive (ESDS) Devices & IEC61000-4-2 system level ESD immunity test. This course prepares the learner to apply fundamental electrostatic calculations, analysis and techniques to mitigate the impact of ESDS.
Learning Outcome:
At the end of the course, the learner should be able to explain on the basics of ESD and identify the different type of ESD failure models. The learner will be able to identify the different types of ESD Association’s standards for EPA control items and IEC61000-4-2 system level testing and differentiate the difference between Product Qualification & Compliance Verification. In addition, the learner will analyze the electrostatic measurement techniques related to resistance, capacitance, charge, voltage and energy, understand the role RC time constant charge decay and apply the electrostatic formulae in EPA applications.
Target Participants:
This is a 3-day course targeted at personnel who works within EPA to establish, implement or/and maintain technical elements which protect ESD Sensitive (ESDS) Devices. It is also targeted at managers and engineers who perform ESD Compliance Verification, as per ESD Control Program
